Susan writes... It's Beautiful Sunny Day!!!
First outing today is church 10:30am- we are going to "the immaculate conception" in Maplewood. Ken, (heart transplant recipient) who visited Frank in the hospital highly recommended we go there. Frank is looking forward to attending mass since his Miracle took place. We will be thinking of all of you in prayer.

ReplyDeleteUncle Frank,
ReplyDeleteJust got home from the road trip a couple days ago--3000 miles from LA to Big Sur to San Fran to Napa Valley to Yosemite to Moab, UT to Fort Collins and now finally KC!
I'm glad I got a chance to talk with you on the phone a few times over the course of the last week, it was good hearing your voice--you sounded like a completely new person. Now I'm ready to hear a famous Uncle Frank joke.
Its been good reading all the updates and comments people have left, one that has become blatantly clear: you are a special person with a huge network of support. I think I speak for everyone when I say NO ONE DESERVED A HEART MORE THAN YOU.
It only makes sense to give the guy with a HUGE heart a new heart that can finally keep up.
Love,
Vincent
PS. Don't worry about now being able to swim in your pool--I'll do enough swimmin in it for both of us!
Darlin' .....You Look Marvvveeelllooouuussss.....
ReplyDeleteAnd Susan....Now that you're sporting that new look of "Eva"......You look Marvelous too !!!
(ha ha ha)
Love ya

Hi Frank
ReplyDeleteJimmy Bruscato called me today and said Holy Rosary Church has a story of your miracle in their church bulletin. He is saving it for you to see. I am anxious to read it myself. You look great in the photo just like you are kicking back relaxing. I am cleaning up the pig stye today since there are kids in and out and lots of food to cook. I will talk to you later. Love Johniann
Frank & Susan,
ReplyDeleteThought you might like to see what was in Holy Rosary's bulletin today:
"A New Miracle!
At our celebration of Our Lady of the Audience on Sunday May 17, 2009, 49 years old Frank Mascaro
was a first time visitor. He has been treated for serious heart disease for 7 years. Three different
defibrillators and various procedures failed and in December 2008 he was placed on the heart transplant
list. In mid April he was moved on top of the list. Frank’s wife, his mother and his sister had
come to the feast in the past. On Sunday May 17 they picked up Frank’s mother from the nursing
home and the whole family attended the feast to Holy Rosary. During the homily I said, “This celebration
in honor of O.L. of the Audience is not a relic of the past, but it is our opportunity to express
our gratitude to our blessed Mother for the blessings and even miracles that she continues to shower on her devotees. Today’s record
attendance at mass is the proof.” After mass there is a shower of rose petals over the statue of Our Lady and people catch those petals
and take them home with devotion and they believe that they are the guarantee for another year of good health. Frank took a handful
of rose petals and a medal of Our Lady and placed them in his walk-in closet to be a daily remembrance of the feast. On Tuesday,
May 19, early afternoon Frank received a telephone call from his doctor in St. Louis to report immediately to the hospital that a new
heart was available. Frank had a heart transplant late Tuesday night and is doing well. He believes this was a miracle and so do his
mother, wife and family, his sister, the nurse, the social worker and many other people. I am sure that Frank and his family will attend
the feast of Our Lady of the Audience every year as long as he lives with his family and lots of friends. Frank’s grandmother was a
dear friend of Saveria and Tony Molle who brought this devotion from Sambuca, Sicily to Holy Rosary in the early 1900’s."
Love,
Stephanie

Hi Frank and Susan:
ReplyDeleteIt is your cousin Julie and man, do you look great Frank, just sitting there so relaxed. (Susan, I want to see a picture like that of you, too). I spent this beautiful, sunny day at a variety of sports activities with the kids; baseball, field hockey, and soccer. I even had my own field hockey game and can't help thinking how lucky I am to be able to play (even though I am stiff and sore right now!) and I how grateful I am that you will soon be able to do sports and other activities that you love again. Anyway, keep up the good work of recovery and know that the Guay's have you in their hearts, minds, and prayers.
Love, Julie
How nice to see the picture of you today! Unbelievable progress! Sorry I haven't been able to come down to see you, but the childrens soccer is all over now. Keep up the hard work and I will continue to keep you in my prayers!
